Victoria Garrick

As a Division I student-athlete, public speaker, sorority member, and dedicated journalist at the University of Southern California, Victoria Garrick is making her mark. After starting every match as a freshman for the USC Women’s volleyball team, Garrick went on to win a Pac-12 championship in 2015, earn Pac-12 Academic Honorable Mention in 2016, and was voted the 2017 team captain.

Last spring, Victoria gave a TEDx Talk on mental health in athletes, which has been viewed over 10,000 times online. Not to mention her article on female body image published in Good Sports magazine that has been read over 300,000 times and received over 80,000 Facebook shares. Victoria has also been featured in USA Today College, FloVolleyball, and is currently working on a piece for the Players’ Tribune, all while starting her own social media campaign, #realposts.

Victoria will be a junior in the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism this fall, majoring in Journalism. By creating and producing her own podcast, Skipping Practice with Victoria Garrick, she hopes to continue making an impact in the world by broadcasting the authentic and true stories of people we look up to.
